DHUC-Knox Summer Picnic Sunday 2009

Picnic Sunday Worship for Knox and Dunbar Heights folks was at Dunbar with special music that highlighted both the contemplative and celebratory moods of the service. And we had a special guest.
Following the service, we travelled to the picnic grounds.

Nicholas comes to church

The first DHUC organizers arrived at 7:30am to set up a shelter and tables and to save space on the lawn at Spanish Banks beach.
After worshipping together, Dunbar Heights and Knox folks found the space and settled in. The day was sunny and hot; the shade offered comfortable space to cool off; the food was plentiful; the conversation relaxed. Many thanks to the organizers.

The youngster had a special table for body-painting. Then they make friends with a puppy—with a little help from a friend. And the youngest had personal visits with the aunts and grandmothers at the picnic.

There were conversations in the sun and conversations under the shade of the ample willow trees.

People were content to hang out in the cool; no need for sweat-producing games on a day like this.

Then came barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers.
