Choral music has always been a part of DHUC worship and part of Vancouver westside cultural community.
|
The Choir at DHUC is growing; new young singers are joining to become part of an enthusiastic group of singers that have taken on challenges under the direction of Dr. Greg Caisley.
In the last two years, Greg encouraged the choir to strive for a degree of excellence we were not sure we could achieve. But with hard work, his constant encouragement and working together, we have presented two very fine performances and are now nearing completion of a third. |

An Invitation
If you are or know a singer or musician who would be interested in being part of this musical tradition, consider sending our Musical Director, Dr. Greg Caisley, an email so we can talk about the possibility.
Choir meets from 7-9pm every Thursday evening from September until June and at 9:15am Sunday mornings. New singers are always welcome. Greg makes podcasts to help us work on anthems at home in preparation for weekly practice. Click here to find those podcasts for upcoming anthems. We strive together, enjoy stretching to new goals and have a good time. We invite you to join us!

Music for Fall and Advent 2012
The choir presented a series of Spirituals during the Church Season of Creation.
Plans for Advent include a Choir Concert, Sunday, December 9th at 7pm; an Evening of Carol Singing Sunday, December 23rd at 7pm; Christmas Eve December 24th Family service 7pm, Candlelight Communion 11pm. Choir will offer and lead music at all events and services.

A Record of Fine Performance
The performance of Bach's Mass in B minor April 7th, 2012 was a triumph of inspiration to work hard together. A full sanctuary appreciated wonderful music performed by a disciplined and talented choir, soloists and instrumentalists.
|
There were two major undertakings in 2011: Parts II and III of Handel's Messiah for Easter and a Christmas concert of Vivaldi's Gloria and three contemporary pieces by American composer Morten Lauridsen.

|
In June every year, the choir gathers for a wrap-up party and celebration of the past year. Members Emeritus are invited, we shared stories, laughter and great food--and we practice, too.
