White, the colour of light and a reminder of the light Christ brings to the world, is the liturgical colour of the Easter season,
of Christmas, Epiphany and of Baptism of Jesus.

Easter Sunday is the the most celebrated of all the days in the Christian calendar. Christ's Resurrection is a reminder of the hope and joy of being
a Resurrection people.

The service began with the presentation of Mozart's Regina Coeli
by choir, strings and trumpet. Then with the help of the children, the Hallelujahs that were put away at the beginning of Lent are released and spread about the sanctuary.

The children gathered again on the steps to hear a story about why eggs are associated with Easter.
Before heading to the Godly Play classrooms, each child received a glass egg created by a glassblower, a member of our congregation.

Would you like to hear the story of this red egg?

Now happy to be able to sing our Hallelujahs, all worshippers parade
to the cross with flowers bringing the bare cross alive with colour.

The Offertory was a glorious presentation of an aria from Handel's Samson
by soprano, piccolo trumpet and organ.
The sharing of the Bread and Wine of Holy Communion
completes the story for us of Easter morning.
