Lenten Sunday Three
The third Sunday of Lent was a Communion Sunday, so in children's time, Rev. Brenda talked with the children about making "heart bread".

Lenten Sunday Four
Every Sunday children gather for time at the front; some choose to listen from the table in their special area.

Lenten Sunday Five
On the Fifth Sunday of Lent the youth participating in the "Walking the Talk" weekend led in worship.
During Exploring the Word with the children, a few youth presented the mandalas they drew to express what they learned on their Saturday missions.
|
Three groups of young people presented features of their day in the Downtown Eastside in three different ways.
|
|
In the gym, at coffee time, all the mandalas were displayed.

Purple the colour of Lent is the colour of royalty and of penitence, a
reminder of Christ's sovereignty and our reflection on the final days of his life. For a
more complete look at the worship life at Dunbar, go to these pages: Children in worship, All Ages services.
Worship at Dunbar Heights is inspirational and challenging preaching, spirited singing, a welcome
and stories for the youngest children, and questions for inquiring youth, all in a traditional
sanctuary. You are welcome to come dressed comfortably in jeans and runners or more formal
attire. Come as you like; our worship is welcoming and joyful.
Service begins at 10:00 am in the sanctuary. Children remain with their parents until theme time,
then go to classes with creative, dedicated teachers trained in the story-telling style of Godly
Play. Sermons and Scripture follow the Revised Common Lectionary or themes chosen by the minister;
the Sacrament of Holy Communion is practiced monthly; All Ages services are scheduled throughout the
year; Baptism of infants and adults is offered as requested.
