May 10th was transition Sunday at DHUC and cause for great rejoicing. Rev. Michelle is begining maternity leave and everyone is overjoyed. We look forward to meeting the baby and Rev. Michelle is looking forward to time in her new role as parent.

As a congregation, we rejoiced in meeting two gifted new people to minister with us while Rev. Michelle is away, each to serve half time.

Cathy helped the children tell our new ministers what we talked about two weeks ago, that is what we want them to know about us. We also had some questions for them to answer about themselves.

Rev. Brenda and Leenane receive the list of things we as a congregation like about our church.
Read Rev. Michelle's parting sermon, "Abide in Me" and her Commissioning of Rev. Brenda and Leenane here.

During the Time of Commissioning Rev. Brenda received symbols of her role as Coordinating Minister — the Bible, the elements of Baptism and Communion and the organization chart of the congregation. In her role of Pastoral Care, Leenane received the list of members, a cup in which to cherish tears of joy and sorrow and a marker with which to record shared ideas of faith and learning.
After the service there was cake. We love cake at DHUC,
but for the children there was too much talking and not not enough cutting and serving.
There was also a book of many pages for Michelle written, drawn and pictured with wishes, prayers and sometimes advice. More pages will be added as other families contribute; a token of appreciation and love for her to read before and after her baby arrives.

During the service there were gift certificates for some pampering at a local spa and help with housekeeping,
gifts from a loving congregation.
