Here at Dunbar, we have engaged on a major repair and renovation of our organ. The work is being done by the very dedicated David Quinton whose father also cared for our organ for many years.
Until now, most of us have only seen the console and the artificial pipes visible from the sanctuary. These days, however, we are getting a look inside the organ room and finding out about the repairs. We are staggered at the work that lies ahead, but thrilled that we will again have a musical instrument that will fully enhance our worship.

David has left us notes to help us understand what he is doing. He's also left us samples of materials to look at and touch. The biggest job is replacing all those circles of leather that allow the stops to open and close, controlling the flow of air to the pipes.

The Organ Report The need to do this work was made clear to us when Music Director, Greg Caisley began talking with David Quinton more than a year ago. Greg put together a report that started us thinking. Click this picture to see the report which tells the history of the organ and includes fine pictures. Have a look; it's good stuff!
