Time: Thursdays 9:30 am - 2:30 pm

Stitch and Chatter is a group of congenial ladies who meet Thursday mornings at 9:30. They have a wide variety of capabilities and share those skills. No one should be intimidated since members, from neophytes to experts, support each other. They make everything from stuffed toys to quilts in styles and sizes to suit any age. They also make a variety of craft items for sale to support the church.

When this photographer dropped in to Stitch & Chatter about noon on a recent Thursday, the star of the day was the beautiful quilt made by Doris Campbell for Fall Fair 2007. Lunch is a good opportunity for Rev. Michelle to share time with these hard-working members of our Dunbar family.

As an Outreach project, Stitch & Chatter spend one month each year making quilts for First United Church to distribute to street people.

Members are always looking for new ideas, and welcome each new project — like this newly-arrived doll. All finished products are stored, ready for sale. The nice thing is, products are for sale any time of the year, simply ask.

There was a lot of excitement about a number of hallowe'en costumes that had just been donated. They'll be for sale at very reasonable prices at the S&C table at the September 11 Open House and Muffin Sunday. They'll go fast!

Is there any surprise that this energetic, creative group is also well organized? The huge amount of material stored in the Ethel Todrick Room, the closet down the hall and one upstairs as well, says there is work to do for years to come.

New members are always welcome to this group that supports the church in such an important way. So drop in to learn a new skill, to enjoy good conversation, laughter and sharing. For more information, contact Doreen Fraser 604-224-3431.
